Gluten-Free Brands We Love - Boochcraft Spotlight
Whether you have celiac disease or an intolerance to gluten, it is important to pick healthy gluten-free options that fit your lifestyle. Just because a product is marked gluten-free doesn’t mean it is healthy or made with quality ingredients. As with anything you put in your body, you should do your research in order to make smart, healthy choices that benefit your overall health instead of hindering it. Here are some of our favorite gluten-free brands. Perfect Bar We are obsessed with Perfect Bar, the original refrigerated protein bar, for many different reasons. They are made with whole food protein, always non-GMO, packed with superfoods, easy to enjoy on the go and all their products are gluten-free! Perfect Bar is a family owned business that has roots starting back to the 1960s on Mission Bay's boardwalk. Bud Keith, the inventor of the perfect bar, created the bar in order to get his kids to eat whole food supplements and protein powder and after they asked for seconds said "it's perfect". In 2004, after falling on hard times, the family decided to sell their family bed & breakfast and use the money to start the family business called Perfect Foods Bar. Today the company occupies a 9,000 square foot headquarters here in San Diego - go team!Caulipower Pizza and Boochcraft makes for a good night, but Caulipower Pizza and Boochcraft makes for a great night. Caulipower pizza crust is full of antioxidants like vitamin C and manganese, and even has phytonutrients, vitamin K, and omega-3 making it a no brainer for your next gluten free pizza night. You could make your own cauliflower pizza crust, but it definitely takes some time and patience. When in a time crunch, we love picking up Caulipower pizza crusts, frozen pizzas, and tortillas. They start with real cauliflower in their products and their pizzas have less than half the sugar compared to the leading gluten-free pizzas available. Simple Mills Simple Mills might just have the best gluten-free crackers on the market. We love their almond flour crackers in pretty much every flavor. Simple Mills crackers are a great source of protein, vitamins, and nutrients while being paleo friendly and never being made with GMOs. In addition, they make cookies and baking mixes that are amazing! So for your next get-together, grab Booch, Simple Mills and some hummus and you'll be the host with the most.Pacha Bread For years it was difficult to find gluten-free bread that tasted as good as the traditional stuff. Thankfully Pacha Bread came into the fold and changed the gluten-free game for the better. Their bread is super soft, the pieces are nicely sized, come apart easily, and are reasonably priced. It tastes great straight out of the bag or toasted for an extra crisp. We love it with some avocado on top. They also have a ton of great resources on their website to help you live your healthiest gluten-free life. Ancient Harvest We love Ancient Harvest because all of their products are gluten-free, plant based, certified non-GMO, and made with simple ingredients. They have amazing organic quinoa, supergrain pastas, quinoa flakes that make tasty oatmeal, and really delicious polenta. Not to mention they make sustainable choices and partner with local projects in their communities. Glutino Sometimes you just want some crunchy snacks and that is where Glutino comes in. They have been making gluten free snacks for 30 years and with that amount of practice, we think they’ve pretty much perfected them. Glutino has everything from pretzels and crackers to cookies, baking mixes, pizza crusts, and just about everything in between. They also share some great gluten-free recipes on their site!Banza Pasta Pasta is a craving that is hard to turn off. Unfortunately, most gluten-free pastas on the market end up with a slimy texture and a lack of flavor. That is, until you try Banza pasta. Their pastas are made up of over 90% chickpeas, non-GMO tapioca, pea protein, and xanthan gum to help bind the pasta without using eggs, which makes them a great vegan option, as well. Banza also packs in 25 grams of protein per serving. That's almost double the amount of protein that you'll find in traditional pasta! Hippeas Hippeas are organic crunchy puffs that are made from chickpeas. Their products don’t contain peanuts, tree nuts or soy, and they have 3 grams of fiber and 4 grams of protein per 1-ounce serving. Hippeas are always gluten-free, certified organic, vegan, and non-GMO. We also love this company because they donate to local food banks across the country and aid in disaster relief efforts through Feeding America. Crunchy puffs that taste amazing and support wonderful causes - yes, please! Enjoy Life Enjoy Life makes all sorts of delicious gluten-free products including breakfast snacks, bars, cookies, baking mixes, and chocolate chips, and so much more. All Enjoy Life foods are certified gluten-free by the Gluten Free Certification Organization, which is much more stringent than the FDA. They practice verified allergen cleaning routines and test their foods regularly so you can be confident that their products are safe. Thankfully, there are many gluten-free products available in the market, but they are not all made the same. All of the brands we shared today are certified gluten-free and made with better ingredients than most alternatives. Make sure to do your research to find the best products for you. Don’t forget to pair your favorite gluten-free snacks with the best hard kombucha there is and remember - Boochcraft is always gluten-free and made with fresh, simple ingredients sourced from organic farms.
