How to Host the Perfect Barbeque

Ahh, barbeque season. The sun is shining, the grill is smoking, Boochcraft and conversation is flowing. What’s not to love? There’s no better way to entertain in the summer months than hosting a casual get-together with friends and family. We’ve put together a list of tips and tricks to ensure you host the most delicious barbeque of the summer.

No Backyard? No Problem

You don’t need to have a backyard to host a killer barbeque. Many local pool clubs, parks, and beaches have recreation areas with built-in grills for public use. Just be sure to pack everything you need (double-check our list below) before hitting the road.

Food, Glorious Food

The key to a great barbeque is to keep it simple and prepare what you can ahead of time so you are able to spend more time with your guests. Stock up on staples such as burgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, cookies, fruit, salad, chips, and salsa. People will be arriving hungry, so be sure you have plenty of food for everyone, and then some! If there is an excess of leftovers, bring inexpensive Tupperware or foil for attendees to take food home with them...who doesn’t love leftovers? Hosting a barbeque doesn’t have to break the bank either. Consider throwing a potluck-style barbeque, where each guest brings a dish to share with the party.

Stock the Bar

Barbeques are the perfect atmosphere to hang out, unwind, and catch up over an ice-cold drink. Stock the cooler with refreshing Boochcraft summer sippers such as Peach Iced Tea, Strawberry Lemonade, Watermelon Chili and Wild Berry. Trust us, your guests will thank you! Find Boochcraft near you Looking to stock the bar with something on the stronger side? Pre-batch these boozy Boochcraft cocktails your guests are sure to enjoy!

Be sure to provide some non-alcoholic beverages as well, such as lemonade and PLENTY of water. It’s hot out there folks, and proper hydration for your guests will keep the party going! And please, please don’t forget ICE!

Get Groovin’

Set the vibes with a fabulous playlist. Make your own, or save some time and search from the many playlists on Spotify or Apple Music. Just make sure your speakers are fully charged and ready to go! *Pro-tip: even if your speaker is fully charged, have a backup on hand.

Entertain the Masses

A nice added touch to any barbeque is some low-key activities for guests to take part in. If space permits, games such as cornhole, spikeball, horseshoe tossing, or even just a football or volleyball can be great additions to the fun. Hosting a kid-friendly barbeque? Supply some sidewalk chalk and let the kids take care of the decorating.

Keep the Bugs at Bay

It’s summer, and those pesky bugs are out to crash the party. Avoid setting food out too early, and consider investing in mesh food protectors. Citronella candles can be used to ward off mosquitos, and as a bonus, they create a beautiful ambiance as the sun sets! Be sure to clean up trash as you go and supply multiple trash cans.
